  20. This question is geared at those of you who have already taken the plunge 
  21. into the PC world.  I am now looking to do the same and sell off my Amiga 
  22. 4000/toaster system (Anybody looking for one?) and need some feedback on 
  23. the best deals you have run across out there.  I guess I would need a 
  24. system with atleast 16 megs of ram, preferrably 32.  I would want a nice 
  25. graphics board, monitor, and all the usual stuff that comes with a 
  26. system... like a HD, CD ROM, and any software that is bundled withit.  If 
  27. at all possible, I would like WINDOWS NT to be my operating system of choice.
  28. Any systems like this during your travels?  If so, what were they and how 
  29. much did they set you back?

  31. Now I have a few individual questions:

  33. 1) How much faster at rendering is a Pentium 60 or 90 Mhz gonna be 
  34. compared to my stock Amiga 4000.   I read somewhere that one of them (I 
  35. don't remember if it was the 60 or 90)  was 8 times faster.  I think this 
  36. was in a LW PRO magazine in an article by Mojo.

  38. 2) Would you reccomend a Pentium based system or not?

  40. Understand that I know very little about PC's because I never have to use 
  41. them....

  43. 3) Is the only difference between windows and windows NT, the software 
  44. that you install, or do you need other things to get it going?

  46. 4) If Windows NT gets rid of the memory barrier and can also multi-task 
  47. so well, why are people waiting for Windows 95 instead of just upgrading 
  48. to windows NT ?  Is software compatibility the issue?
  49.  
  50. I'll have about $5,000 or so to spend on a PC system which needs to 
  51. include a PAR and LW 4.0, so any help would be appreciated.
